Chiropractic Adjustment

Top-Rated Hollywood Chiropractor

The chiropractic adjustment is one of the most powerful and well researched manual therapy tools in healthcare today. The physicians at Miami Spine and Performance are two of only a handful of chiropractors in South Florida and the only chiropractors in Hollywood certified by the Motion Palpation Institute in both the spine and extremity adjustments. Chiropractic adjustments are used to relieve pressure and compression in your joints, allowing more freedom of movement, reduction in muscle spasm and improved nerve function.

chiropractic adjustmentA joint fixation can be caused by prolonged poor posture, biomechanics or a direct injury. Once a joint becomes fixated, the area around that joint will not move normally and may have “closing angle joint pain”. This type of pain is not felt like a muscle stretch but rather a pinching or locking when a joint is closed down. When you are experiencing this type of joint pain you will not find relief in stretching or exercising the area, but should seek out a trained professional in joint manipulation and mobilization such as a chiropractor.

The chiropractors at Miami Spine and Performance are trained to adjust joints of both the spine and extremities including but not limited to: the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, the hip, ankle, foot, shoulder, and wrist.

At the onset of each visit, you will be put through a  movement assessment and motion palpation assessment to determine which joints are appropriate to adjust in order to remove all joint fixations and improve movement quality.

Though adjustments are an important tool in resolving the neck, back, and extremity pain, we recognize that not every patient is comfortable being adjusted and we are more than happy to use other therapies to assist you in reaching your health and fitness goals. Joint mobilization is another tool that we use in our office work through joint restrictions by gentle and slowly moving a joint through a full range of motion without the “popping” or “cracking” sound made during an adjustment.

In conjunction with the chiropractic adjustments, our physicians also incorporate other manual therapy techniques such as active release technique and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization we have found significant improvement in outcomes for patients.

Our mission is always to not just treat the patient but also build long-term resiliency, we will generally utilize corrective exercises with our patients such as the McKenzie method, functional range conditioning, and dynamic neuromuscular stabilization. Miami Spine and Performance is currently the only clinic in Hollywood or the surrounding areas of Aventura and Hallandale Beach, FL certified in both DNS and FRC.

We help patients seeking relief for a variety of medical diagnoses and pain presentations including:
