Dr. Adams co-founded Miami Spine and Performance in order to bring an integrative, patient-centered approach to the greater Aventura community. Dr. Adams has been a part of the Aventura/Hallandale beach community for over 20 years, spending a couple of months per year in the area while going to school in Chicago. After dealing with a number of injuries as a high school athlete and finding significant relief with the help of chiropractic care, Dr. Adams went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Miami as well as a doctoral degree in chiropractic medicine from National University of Health Sciences, graduating at the top of his class from both schools.
During his time at the University of Miami, Dr. Adams worked with a variety of varsity sports as a strength and conditioning intern and took graduate level course work in sports performance while working as a personal trainer and interning at Crossfit Soul Miami. During his summers in college, Dr. Adams was selected as a sports performance intern at Stanford and Harvard University, working with hundreds of division 1 athletes across multiple over 30 sports. Having a background in sports performance, over 500 hours of continuing education and great mentors throughout his undergraduate and graduate education allows Dr. Adams to treat a wide spectrum of patients looking to get out of pain, improve their health and perform at their best.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Adams is currently an instructor and PhD candidate at the University of Miami and has taught at both Miami Dade College and Keiser University. In his free time, Dr. Adams is a brown belt in brazilian jiu jitsu, enjoys playing piano and traveling around the world.
“The ability to move your body freely and be active is one of the most important markers of overall health. We believe that everyone deserves a fruitful and active life, which is why every patient will get a thorough full body assessment as well as a thorough explanation as to the nature of their condition and the their specific road to recovery. It is crucial in healthcare that the patient feels educated and empowered during a time of stress such as an injury and this is why we have created Miami Spine and Performance.”
